Out with the old and in comes the new! Say goodbye to the familiar green and yellow of the ABN Bank, and welcome The Bank: an impressive building transformed by the Kroonenberg Groep from boring office space to the likes of Starbucks, Wagamama, Marqt, George’s Deli, Vapiano and so much more. I have the feeling we will be spending sufficient amount of time here to dedicate a post about this one!
The oldest part of The Bank building dates back to 1926, and although tweaked and tuned several times since then, its about time Amsterdam joins the 21st century. Paul Bremmer, one of the brains behind the project tells us “the aim was to return the building to the city of Amsterdam. The former design of the building felt very constricted, it now has a much more open character”. And indeed it does! So if you’re ever looking for top quality groceries and maybe some coffee (with a slice of apple pie on the side) you now know where to go!
